Membership Information

Membership of the club is open to all subject to any conditions imposed by the Home Office under the Firearms Act.  The club is Home Office approved and Affiliated to the National Rifle Association.

Anyone interested in target shooting and wishing to take up the sport by joining the Huddersfield Rifle Club, should attend a range day which take place on most Saturday afternoons between the beginning of April and the end of October.

As a Home office Approved Club, shooting is not permitted on the first visit but will be on the second and subsequent visits following the completion of a Membership Application Form and section 21 declaration.

New members to the sport, non Firearm Certificate (FAC) holders, are required to serve a minimum six month probationary period before upgrading to Full Membership.

Each year the Huddersfield Rifle Club must pay a surcharge to the NRA for anyone who's primary club is Huddersfield Rifle Club but they are not a member of the NRA.  This £10 surcharge must be paid for by the club member and is not inclusive of the membership fee's below each year.  If you wish to join the NRA then a link to their site can be found on our links page.

The cost of membership is :-

Initial Joining Fee £10

Annual Subscription:

Juniors (Under 18) £20

Adult £45

Country Member £22.50

The cost of a shoot is currently:-

£4 per range - 200 yard range & 500 yard range, totalling £8 for both if you wish to use both ranges.  Shooters paying £8 for both ranges can also use the 100 yard range inclusively.

Ammunition £14.40 to £17.28 for 24 rounds depending upon type & quality required. Unless you have an FAC with relevant conditions, any unused ammunition must be surrendered upon completion of day's shooting.
Guest fee £2.00 Probationary members must pay the guest fee at every visit.

A 100 yard range is also available to the membership at a range fee of £4.00. Users are responsible for arranging a suitably qualified range officer to supervise the shooters who must use standard NRA or NSRA approved targets.

The maximum you will pay in range fees for a week is £8.  This could be shooting fullbore at 200 yards, 500 yards on a Saturday or Sunday and then any number of times at the 100 yard range through the week.  If you only shoot at the 100 yards range on a Saturday or Sunday paying £4 you will still need to pay £4 again if you shoot again through the week at 100 yards but will not have to pay again for the rest of the week.
